1. Who may use the site
- Browsing is open to everyone.
- Accounts are for adults (18+): parents or legal guardians of players, club directors and tournament operators, and staff.
- Children may not create accounts or submit information. Player profiles are held and controlled by a parent or legal guardian.
2. Parent and guardian registration
- Registering or claiming a player requires affirming, under the attestation at submission, that the account holder is the player's parent or legal guardian and consents to the profile.
- Misrepresenting guardianship is grounds for immediate removal of the account and associated content.
- One parent account may hold multiple players (siblings). Each player may be claimed by only one account.
3. Editorial independence
- Rankings and evaluations are produced solely at our editorial discretion and are not influenced by payment, membership, club affiliation, or community poll results. They constitute opinion and commentary based on public basketball activity.
- Community polls, when active, are user-voted, clearly labeled, and maintained separately from editorial content.
- University Rankings may cover any player editorially (name, school, class, evaluation) as journalistic coverage, whether or not that player's family holds an account. Parent-supplied content (photographs, film, GPA) is displayed only in conjunction with a claimed profile.
4. User content and license
- Parents, guardians, and club directors retain ownership of the content they upload (photographs, film links, logos, biographical text) and grant University Rankings a non-exclusive license to display that content on the platform.
- The uploader warrants that they hold the rights necessary to upload the content, including any rights required to use a photograph of a minor.
- University Rankings may remove any user content at its discretion, including on grounds of quality, accuracy, safety, or rights concerns.
5. Club and team pages
- Club directors manage their club details, teams, and rosters and are responsible for the accuracy of that information.
- By adding a player to a roster, a club director represents that the player participates with that program. Claimed players' guardians may remove their player from any roster at any time; directors may not re-add a player whose guardian has removed them absent the family's agreement.
- Club pages display the editorial-independence notice; club-managed content is the responsibility of the club, not of University Rankings.
6. Community polls (when active)
- Eligibility is limited to the categories published at the time of a given poll (typically claimed accounts and verified directors).
- Each account is entitled to one ballot; account holders may not vote for their own player or club. University Rankings may discard ballots and suspend accounts in connection with manipulation, including the use of multiple accounts, vote trading, or automation.
- Poll results reflect community opinion and are not editorial rankings.
7. Acceptable use
- Harassment of players, families, clubs, or staff is prohibited. The subjects of this site include minors, and conduct standards are enforced accordingly.
- Scraping or bulk extraction of profiles is prohibited, as is the use of player information for solicitation unrelated to basketball recruiting.
- Impersonation and attempts to bypass review, claims, or access controls are prohibited.
8. Removal and enforcement
- Verified guardian removal requests are honored promptly, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- University Rankings may suspend or terminate accounts and remove content for violations of these terms, with or without notice.
9. Paid features
Paid tiers are not currently offered. When introduced, fees will apply solely to visibility and profile features and will not affect editorial rankings. Full renewal, cancellation, and refund terms will be published here upon the launch of paid tiers.
10. Disclaimers and liability
- Editorial content constitutes opinion. Profiles and rosters contain user-supplied information that University Rankings reviews but does not guarantee.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Venue for any dispute lies exclusively in the state and federal courts sitting in Harris County, Texas.
11. Operating entity
University Rankings is operated by its founder in Houston, Texas. The named operating party may change upon formation of a limited liability company; any such change will be reflected in these terms.
12. Changes and contact
University Rankings may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above and will be highlighted on the site. General inquiries may be sent to info@universityrankings.us.
