Community Signal

Community Poll results reflect ballots from registered families and approved club directors. They are a community signal only and have no influence on University Rankings editorial rankings. How this works.

Community Signal

How Community Polls Work.

Who votes

Players' Polls are voted on by registered families with an approved player claim and by approved club directors. Team Polls are voted on by approved club directors only. Sign in with the account that holds your approved claim or your verified club, and eligible polls show a "Cast your ballot" button.

How scoring works

Every ballot ranks the same number of entries (15 by default, or 10 for thinner divisions). Scoring is Borda: slot 1 earns the ballot size in points, slot 2 earns one less, and so on down to slot 15 which earns 1 point. Points across all ballots decide the final order.

Self-vote rules

Parents cannot rank a player they hold an approved claim on. Directors cannot rank any player currently rostered by a team in their club, and cannot rank any team belonging to their club. Blocked entries never appear in the ballot picker; the server rejects them too as a backstop.

Results unlock

Results stay hidden until the poll reaches its ballot threshold (25 for player polls, 10 director ballots for team polls). Before then, the results page shows a progress bar so you can see how close the cycle is to unlocking.

Not editorial rankings

Community Polls never influence University Rankings editorial rankings. The two are built, scored, and published separately. Editorial rankings live on the Rankings page. Community results live under Community Polls.
